Lost Jarie 1 yr ago this past July. She was taken so suddenly , I never thought she wouldn't come home from the hospital . I see her everywhere and in everything . I feel like I should have gone with her , I'm lost without her.

Hello Pops4life63 and welcome to our supportive Community.

I am so sorry to hear of the sudden loss of Jarie 14 months ago. I am not sure what 'relation' she was to you but clearly you were very very close to her. Perhaps she was your wife or partner.

It sounds like you are still trying to make sense of your loss and really missing Jarie. It has been a relatively short time since Jarie unexpectedly passed away and everyone grieves at their own pace and in their own time. First 'anniversaries' are especially difficult although all 'anniversaries' bring back memories that may heighten thoughts and feelings. Experiencing feelings that you should have gone with her are quite understandable and a 'normal' part of grief. It is important that you do not act on these thoughts.

Take one day at a time and try to be kind to yourself and take small steps. Do you feel that it would be helpful to see your Doctor to get something to help lift your mood. Have you considered grief counselling. It can be very helpful to talk about your thoughts and feelings.

Pops4life63 you will always miss Jarie. You will never get over your loss but in time you will learn to live with your loss.

We are always here for you Pops4life63, take care

I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine the loss you feel. I wish l knew of a magic pill for you. See your doctor weekly and join a group going through the same weekly. I have no answers but l fear the exact same with wife or kids. Life can be cruel. You are dealing with the worst. Loss of loved one. You have my heart totally Ron

I am so sorry. it must be hard that you couldn't prepare yourself and maybe say the things you wanted to say? I lost my partner to cancer four and a half months ago. I'm in the UK and have had help from Cruse Bereavement-phone counselling in my case.

No matter how often it happens, and to whom, losing a loved one is devastating. When it happened to me I eventually joined CRUISE, the bereavement organisation. They are very supportive.
