I am a 16 year old and i am constantly feeling sad and it reflects in my everyday mood, my friend who previously suffered with depression told me to take an online test on the NHS to see if i should go and see a doctor and it says that i should go asap but i know if i told my parents i want to go to the doctors because of it they will just say its nothing and not let me go, i don't know what to do

first things first you need to tell them and if they say that..... explain depression to them what it feels like what it can do physically and mentally then you need to get a doctors or try to start seeing a therapist/ Councillor they will get you a doctors appointment and proper help !!
Hi Adam. I have a 16yr old son who we have just found out has depression, and has done so for the last two years. He won't talk to us at all and is very very angry that we have found out (his school called us) so it is great that you feel you could approach to your parents. My own son took himself to the doctors and to see a councellor without us knowing and is getting help (we hope). the fact you are want to talk to them is fantastic (i wish my son would).
At 16 you can call up and make your own appointments but I know it is hard to get there in terms of travel etc. My son told me he was meeting up with friends when he was really seeing the councellor. Perhaps if you tell your parents you want something else checked out? i know that seems like a lie but sometimes you just need to get the help. Or try talking to them even if it is a very very hard thing to do. You can get help and you WILL feel better - but you need to get yourself there first.
