I can't believe it!! My little "cheat day" two or three days ago appears to have worked!! My weight hit the "under 230" mark, and I decided to have a little "cheat day," and still keep the calorie count under 2000. I had oatmeal, a banana, a cup of ice cream, and then a bunch of spinach and broccoli. I am convinced that that was all under 2000 calories, and I did a bit of my at home exercise routine. Everybody on here, for winter weather/rainy days or if you just don't feel like going to the gym for any other reason, that Leslie Sansone intense walking video is absolutely outstanding!! I didn't touch the scale for another 2 days, and I really didn't want to weigh myself until Monday came around again, but I had the urge to weigh myself this morning, and I gave into it. Wow, it was 2 pounds lower than it was 2 days ago!! Now I feel like correctly structuring cheat meals at the very appropriate time periods can help contribute to weight loss. But you gotta be careful with it.....I truly feel like a 90% healthy food strategy is the best way to go. I have known people, like my brother-in-law many years ago did, who lost weight with strange strategies like eating exactly one piece of pizza a day until he hit his weight loss goal. I truly believe that eating too many of the wrong foods too often can lead other health problems, even if you do lose the "correct" amount of weight.

Hi briGuyIndy.
I am glad to hear this worked for you.
This is all about finding something that works for you. Everyone on here follows a different plan, some people calorie count, some do intermittent fasting, some do low carb…
Personally I’m trying to eat more whole foods and ensure I am adding more veg and protein into my meals. This doesn’t need to be boring…I have seen in your previous post you mentioned just eating spinach or broccoli. If you enjoy doing that, then of course go ahead. But if not, there are so many healthy but yummy things you can do with both these ingredients. I like eating things that taste nice because eating for me is also feeding my soul. I feel the biggest thing that is helping me, is getting in the kitchen and cooking. Using Whole Foods as ingredients, knowing what I’m putting in when I’m cooking something. Do I eat pizza? Yes I do. But I then don’t want to ‘punish’ myself by only eating spinach or broccoli afterwards.
The other thing that I’m focusing on is my portion sizes…because I like to eat. I’m trying to eat more slowly to allow myself time to realise I’m full.
As I said before, if you’ve found what works for you, great! If you enjoy spinach and broccoli on their own, then that’s also great!
