Hello and welcome to the Weight Loss Forum Dionnew65 😊
You are not alone in trying many different diets before you find the right one for you. The best advice I can give is have enough to eat. If you are following the NHS 12 Week plan then the 1400/1900 calorie target suggested is a just generic amount, please check your own personal calorie target using the BMI checker, it’s often higher than you think. We always advise starting towards the top of the range, being hungry is the biggest cause of weight loss failure. Also look carefully at what you eat, it is no longer advisable to follow a low fat diet, instead we need to watch carbohydrates and sugar.
Follow this link to our chat thread and a list of all the activities we run. We've found active participation to be key to success, especially with our weigh-ins and Daily Diary healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
If you haven’t already, then please read the Welcome post here which has lots of useful information about all the things we have on offer healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
For your own privacy and safety online we suggest that you lock your posts by selecting ‘members of my community’ when you write a new post. Please read our security post here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... especially as your post isn’t locked
Best wishes and have a good first week
Indigo 😊
same lol i never could get my head around how i could eat as much pasta rice and baked totties as i liked 😂 i gained as well, i stopped weighing myself in November too and i bought a pair of jeans a size smaller which i now fit into so ive again bought myself another pair to motivate me to fit into them, without the stress of watching the weighing machine and just telling myself to have common sense when eating and cooking/snacking its worked better for me than any diet ive tried i also tell myself im not on a diet 😂 why didnt i think of this last year!!

Welcome to the forum, good luck with your weight loss journey.
Good luck in your first week. I know lots of people on this forum (myself included) that prefer this to the big weight loss companies. The support here is fantastic
Hi & Welcome, good luck with your weight loss , I'm doing it a bit at a time, cutting out the unhealthy things such has biscuits cakes crips etc, started this week on cutting down on bread, trying every evening to walk for a least 30mins and so far so good no weight gains anyway ;), plus I'm not paying someone to set me a target to get to, I'm finding plenty of ideas and helpful advice on this fabulous forum along with best wishes and motivation, but best of all we are all hoping and achieving with a little help and willpower a healthier lifestyle
Hi Dionnew65 - just to say I fully agree with gottabedone. Get rid of the rubbish (crisps, biscuits, processed foods) in your cupboards as much as you can. My hubby likes biscuits so I put them in a tin where they are not in my view! Also experiment with different drinks, so if you like tea or coffee, try herbal teas instead. Sometimes it's a habit of having a biscuit with a cuppa and having a different drink breaks that. The gym isn't for everyone but you do need to keep moving and walking is a great way to do this, as is cycling. I know people laugh at me for this but when I am at home, if I have to go upstairs for something, I always go up and down the stairs twice to get some extra calorie usage in (plus it's good for your heart). Break down goals to manageable chunks (to stop you feeling like a chunk haha). Try fasting as well, here’s a great post to read about that
