Why is it, if I'm getting dressed for around the doors, food shopping and ordinary daily chores, I can always find something to wear. But when I have to get dressed for going somewhere nothing in my wardrobe ever fits? 😤
My muffin top seems bigger, I'm uncomfortable & end up trying everything on twice until I just give up & huffily put anything on. ( then be very eager to get back home)
If only I didn't have to sit down, as my clothes look lovely when I'm standing. 😊

Morning Hun, I'm sure we're not the only ones 😊 very irritating though, I have the same kind of conversation with my hubby & bless him he always tells me I look beautiful even when I'm standing with a twisted face 😳
I can kid myself I look OK as I just look in the mirror front on, forgetting that everyone else gets the full 3D experience until I see myself side on in a shop window
Hi Jopat111, I have the same problem, everyday clothes...... no problem. Nice dress or skirt and blouse.... oh dear. I read somewhere we wear 20% of our clothes 80% of the time. This is so true. I recently sorted my clothes but have a pile in a spare wardrobe that are on 'death row' if you'll pardon the grim analogy. That is, if they don't fit by August, say, they're out. And even before I started the NHS system, I bought a few nice tops that don't bulge and actually fitted me. And when I get down to a healthy weight I will review my clothes on death row and see if I can alter my nice new clothes if they are a bit too big. I have a little sewing machine but I'm no seamstress so it will be a little tweak here and there. It's always the clothes that are the wake up call, aren't they?! I have been absolutely fine in normal clothes but looked for a nice outfit and ended up a big internally hysterical mess, self esteem in tatters. That is all fortunately changing but it's horrible. And yet I look at bigger women in nice fitted dresses and think "Oh she looks nice but I wouldn't dare wear such a dress". We're always so hard on ourselves. We need kinder internal voices! Good luck, we will get there.
I completely understand! if I could stand my whole life, I would not look bad at all! I am sure you look better than you give yourself credit for. I don't have any dress clothes as all I run around in is t-shirts and jeans and sloppy shorts. I had a job interview yesterday and scrambled to find something decent to wear. I found one skirt and a few shirts and giving myself some credit, did not look too bad for a woman of my size (241 pounds). so it goes.... good luck and chin up! soon we will both be buying some cool new clothes!
