Calorie count
Hello again Skitty
The NHS BMI checker should have suggested a target calorie ‘range’ and we always advise starting towards the top of the range, being hungry is the single biggest cause of weight loss failure. It may seem a lot just now but trust me, it’s better to lose weight slowly and keep it off
Good luck!
Hi thank you for that I have roughly been working out what I have on an average day and I don't think I am actually having anywhere near the to lowest of the amount they are saying, they it should be between 1879-2416 kcal a day and I don't think I am eating the lowest amount perhaps that could be my problem.
I'm sure it seems higher than you expect and it can take a while to make the changes, step by step, so you're eating a healthy range of food at the right calorie level.
You're right to keep coming back with any questions You might like to join the daily diary - it will help you with planning and give you different meal ideas
A lot depends too on activity levels. For example, if you are doing a lot of strenuous activity or exercise (say spending 2 hours digging the garden, spring cleaning, training for a marathon, etc) then you will be "earning" exercise calories and you should aim to eat at least half of these.
