Hi, I'm 53 years old tomorrow and I can no longer be over weight. I am not in good health and my nurse has advised me to try this site. I have tried most diets but I need to try something new.

Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan if you haven't already done so. Some of us use the myfitnesspal ap to log and count calories. Also there is a weigh in on Mondays which is worth joining in with as it keeps the incentive to keep going.

Welcome to this very friendly and helpful forum. You have definitely come to the right place for motivation and advice. Alot of us follow the nhs12wk plan and is an excellent place to start 👍

The plan is ultimately calorie counting, eating healthier, tweeking your existing food (wholmeal, low fat and sugar), moving a bit more, portion control and drinking plenty of water 💗

Get involved as much as you can on the forum. Its full of advice and challenges to keep you motivated along your journey 🏃

Good luck and youll soon be reaping rewards. Your 53rd year will be the best ever !!! 😀
