Overweight, obese, sick of feeling rubbish all the time, confidence shot, worried about my health, blood clots, heart, diabetes, high cholesterol and feeling very upset. It's just the realisation that I have got to get a grip now and I'm so determined because I never want to feel this way ever again. I know I have high cholesterol but none of the others fortunately, not that I'm aware of anyway. They just frighten me and I'm sick of being frightened and anxious. Don't want to be upset and anxious anymore. It ends now. I've had enough. Thankful I've found this support and I'll be weighing myself each Sunday at 10:00am. Doing this on my own; not diet clubs anymore. Just being sensible. Apologies for the negative post but great to offload. Today is my day for getting organised! x

Love the name youlookstunning. You are far from negative, you sound like one pretty determined lady so you will do this.
I just wanted to fill you in on the user name....it was once said to me a few years ago at a Christmas party. I was about 14st 7lbs then and I do sort of 'scrub up well'! This may sound conceited; it's not meant to. Anyway, I'm at this party with my hubby and one of my work colleagues came up and just said "you look stunning" and it struck a chord with me. It was the most flattering thing that I think anyone has ever said to me and it stuck. So know you know where it came from! I rather like it! Ha-Ha! xx
Good luck! And remember, the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step! Decide today what is the one thing you are going to do to change in your life. Just one thing. Maybe its to cut out junk food, or drink more water or exercise or whatever it is. Decide on it today and do it for the next 21 days. Be kind to yourself and this journey, and remember you didnt just wake up one day like this. It has taken you years to get to where you are, so its going to be a slow steady journey back to rebuilding a new you. But the journey is the most exciting part!
God bless and strengthen you on this journey!
Hi and welcome Your mindset is exactly where I was nearly 9 weeks ago till I found this lovely forum you have made the first step towards a new you!
Check the newbies post on the right hand side of your screen lots of info on there also challenges to join and the Monday weigh in. ( I only weigh every 2 weeks as I get obsessed with the scales there is no pressure just weigh when you want).
Go on the BMI checker and find your allowance for daily calories I aim at the lower end of my calorie allowance in case I have misjudged calorie food content.
Some on here use different fitness trackers or my fitness pal app to help along the way.
I have done SW and WW clubs before but thank goodness I found this forum as I am on the 12 week plan which is easy to follow and download, I fill it in daily recording my calories, steps, activity etc. I think the 12 week plan re educates you into making better choices within foods and so far it has been the best eating plan for me and it's free 😊
Everyone on here is fantastic with an ocean of encouragement and advice to give so don't hold back asking if you get stuck.
We all have different reasons to loose weight but that is why we are here.
To be honest if you have a lot to loose (like me) you have to understand this is not a diet but a change of lifestyle you don't deny yourself anything but add it in your daily allowance when you do that you certainly make better food choices.
Good Luck I am sure one of the admin team will welcome you shortly. 👍 Bev
Positive in the fact your on here ,good luck.
Hello and welcome
You have taken the first most important step 😊 You are not doing it on your own, you have us! 😊
Check out the Newbies post, also the NHS12 week plan, 😊
You can do this, lots of us are! 😊
Thank you all for such a warm welcome. It is very much appreciated. The tips are really helpful too as I'm not sure of my way around just yet. I weighed this morning and came in at 15st 1/2lb. It is what it is. I am 5ft 5ins tall so you can see why the BMI calculator says I'm obese......I sort of felt that anyway so no great surprises there! I'm counting down to 11st, not in my BMI healthy range but I know that this will make a massive difference to the way I feel about myself and my health and that's what I'm doing this for. So 4st 1/2lb to eliminate. I'm no fool and know that it will be a roller coaster at times but then so is life and I agree that it's not a diet, this is a change of my lifestyle, eating and exercise wise. New habits need to be formed.
Once again, thank you so much for the very warm welcome and I hope that at some time I may be able to support and encourage others as you all have me xxx
Just thinking actually - I'll break the weight that I want to lose down into lbs. I'm looking at 56.5 lbs then. Doesn't seem so daunting to me when I see it like that.
Can I ask - is there a chart/graph or something on here that you can update your weight on that shows your progress? I've not had a chance to look today and I'm off to bed shortly. Hopefully get a better chance to familiarise myself with the site through the week.
I also want to find some sort of 'block' chart where you colour in the lbs as you lose them. I need a visual aid (in the kitchen I think) where i can see progress made and as a motivator to keep going when times get tough. Is anyone aware if something like this exists? If not I may look and see if I concoct something in work this week. I know I should be working..! This is more important
My first step to a happier me begins tomorrow.
Goodnight everyone and again, thanks for your support xx
