That is not a fail. 5lbs in 5 weeks is great progress.

You might not have reached your target at a certain point in time, but I'm sure you'll get there once you return well and rested from your holiday.

Have fun and I hope all your aches and pains will heel while you're away! 😊

Remember this is not a race; more of a learning to change your bad eating habits into good ones, and this must be happening if you have successfully lost 5lbs! Enjoy your holiday (within reason)..... and maybe your motivation when you get home will be to get fit and healthy ready for your next holiday, (or birthday, or christmas etc)

Have a great holiday, take some good books with you, and hope you come home rested and full of enthusiasm for the future!

I suppose the whole problem is that our bodies have a tendency to do what they want, regardless of what WE want. I too realized that I wasn't going to make my target because of a few dodgy weeks. So I have regrouped and reset the goal post. I was hoping to get to 11stone 6 (my upper healthy weight from the NHS BMI calculator) before I head out to visit my family the end of June. Clearly, I'm not going to get there as I'm currently at 12 stone 5. However, as I've now lost over 2 1/2 stone, I'm finding I'm not that upset. The overall progress is down and I'm feeling so much better than I did when I started out to get healthy in January (I was 15 stone at that point and desperately in need of exercise!).

So I've just gone and reset. I'm hoping to get into the 11s before I go. I may or may not actually get there. But at least I'm doing the best I can to get a better all around me. And as many people around here have pointed out, weight is not the only indication of success! :)

Hi Holiday100,

I think you have succeeded, I truely do, because you've lost 5 pounds in 5 weeks, and losing 1 pound per week is fantastic!!! So Congratulations and really well done. I am sorry to hear your knee is still swollen and bruised after your fall, and your hand also, and I'm glad that you're feeling positive about your holiday, despite that, and that you intend to enjoy yourself and having a lovely time.

Wishing you a great holiday, and look forward to catching up with you when you get back. Hopefully you'll be recovered by then from your fall, and you'll be feeling relaxed and happy after a lovely relaxing holiday.

Enjoy!

Lowcal :-)
