Right, completely new to all this but here goes. 2 weeks into diet using myfitnesspal app (calories counting. 1200 calories per day) and exercise, I am 8lb lighter and have lost 2.5 inches from my waist! It's a start! I've had 1 wobble (the day after my diet started) but I got right back on track the next morning and have stuck to it. I'm in the zone!!! I'm doing 6 days per week exercise (mainly exercise bike or swimming) with 1 rest day on a Sunday.ย
59lb to go!!! I can & will do this! ๐

Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS community forum. ย You sound like you're enjoying your start on your weight loss journey, and that's really great! ย I'd like to give you the link to our Welcome Newbie thread, as well as a link to the Monday group weigh-in - just incase you fancy joining in with a weekly weigh-in in a group setting. ย You might prefer to do your own weigh-ins - but I thought I'd highlight the option of a group too. ย It is supportive and friendly.
Set yourself mini goals of 7lb and keep counting I have set myself 1000 a day as its easy to go over and exercise each day and weigh ,plot a graph and plan those calories every morning so that you know what you are going to eat. Keep how you want to look in mind , for me it was my lovely daughter who has reinvented herself over last year. Now we are the same weight! Good luck . mind over matter x
Wow well done to you. I have myfitnesspal app so I'm pretty rigid with my planning. I think that's key for me really. If I can stray, I will massively so I'm not doing cheat nights or anything like that. Just trying to stay focused. Thanks for your advice ๐ Xx
Great results and I agree it's all in the planning.ive had MFP app for yrs ย but just started using it recently, ย what a difference it's made and what an eye opener as to the amount I was eating.ย
You will achieve your goals especially now with such good results. ย Wishing you well on your journeyย
Thanks greeny4 . I'm so glad I've found this as I think reading other people's journeys and knowing I'm not alone in this battle will defo give me a boost on the difficult days ๐
I am 2 weeks into the diet too ... lost 3lbs in the first week .. have 21lbs to lose ... finding it easy to follow and using myfitnesspal too ... just need to up the exercise ... well done you!!!!
Thank you ... just browsing around the BBC Good Food site for some inspiration for some low calorie meals ... some lovely ideas!!ย I am very determined to get rid of my 21lbs ... I lost 2 stone a few years ago and as always complacency sets in and you think its ok to eat whatever you want ... and hey presto 2 years later you have put it all back on!!!
Are you sticking to 1400 a day or did you use the BMI calculator to see what your allowance is?ย I was on 1600 according to the calculator but have adjusted it to 1400 now
Wow well done you that's amazing. I'm using that app it's really help me too think about the off rubbish is in food and the way I look at food.keep up the good work.
Hi, your doing really well. Keep it up! I'm on my fitness pal too & am following the 12 week weight loss plan. I am also feeling the difference after 6 days of exercise. Its tough but am gona hang in there. Your post is motivating!ย
