Does anyone use electronic scales? If I weigh myself upstairs I'm one weight, and if I weigh myself downstairs I'm another! Why is there such a difference? And it's a big difference!
What is up with my scales???! - Weight Loss Support
What is up with my scales???!
I'd love to write about gravitational forces at different heights....but that would be silly! So...carpets? Are the floors very different....wood v stone...uneven.
My advice would be to stick with one place where you always weigh.
We must think alike, PP - I was thinking exactly the same thing about gravity when I read it
Wouldn't it be great if it turned out to be gravitational forces and you lived in the tallest ever skyscraper! ......HGWells wrote a short story about a man who wanted to loose weight....and his wish was granted...unfortunately he remained the same size but floated high in the ceiling.
Not sure my desire to lose weight could overcome my vertigo !
But we wouldn't have to do 45k a week...just nip up the stairs!
Hi, I agree, it's the floor surfaces. I wanted to weight myself in my bedroom, so I have had to put my scales on a thick piece of wood to ensure the weight doesn't shift while I am standing on them. I also had cheap electronic scales that would show a different weight depending on where I was standing on them and when I leaned forward to check my weight. So I've invested in a better set of scales.
Yep I have that problem with timber floors.
They can be extremely unreliable for a consistent weight.
It's probably the floors unfortunately. I think I would pick the one I like the best, is that naughty ? Lol!!!!!!!!!
I think it's always best to stick to one in the same place really as that would be more accurate. I had same problem in my last house as floors were mostly wooden and if I moved scales on to a carpeted bit it was radically different.
lol I can relate to this. My hubby told me he thought he had lost a stone, but he didn't understand how because he doesn't look or feel any different. It turned out he had used the scales on carpet instead of on the laminate flooring in the kitchen (laid straight on concrete) where I always weigh. I put them in the exact same spot I weigh in and the stone returned to him. I know where I weigh is the right weight because the doctor weighed me and my scales said the same in my kitchen. That's not a bad idea, to use a professional scales somewhere (doctor/nurse at surgery, local pharmacy, or gym if you go?) and then weigh on your scales at home so you know how far out they are (if at all).
When you weigh yourself make sure the scales are on a solid surface this happened to me .l had the scales downstairs on carpet and in the bathroom on tiles therefore giving me different readings .give it a try
