How long have you been stuck at 16 st? 2 stone in 3 months is quite a lot and although I am losing a lot slower than that, a couple of times I have found I stuck for a week or so. Then lost some more.

It's not unusual to plateau during weight loss, I also did for almost 3 months on my weightloss journey. It might be time to look more closely at what you are eating by logging everything for a week via an App like MyfitnessPal, it's a pain and perhaps a little daunting at first, however it soon becomes easier.

Armed with some facts and figures you'll find it easier to see if anything needs to be changed. I remember when it happened to me, I drilled down to find that I was consuming anything from 500-800 calories a day in fruit, especially dried fruit, snacking heavily on the latter without really realising.

Also keep in mind that as your weight drops so does your bodies energy requirements, a 19 stone man can eat more than a 16 stone man and lose weight.

Hi Gerry: I think Olsbean has made a good point, esp re fruit and veggies. I always get stuck somewhere, regardless of not changing my eating habits etc - but I have now, since joining this site and from info obtained elsewhere, how fruit++ can have far too much sugar for one's energy requirements, even if the grand total of all one eats is within the calorific parameters you have set. I am just having 2 or 3 max fruits per day in the mornings - and have stepped up on veggies - I also make a nice "green smoothie" with cucumber (a wonderfully healthy foodstuff - chech google) and greek yoghurt, spinach leaves, ginger and lettuce, which I find very tasty - or else just have salads++ rather than fruit. This morning I made myself a carrot salad - so easy, yet so delectable, and had no fruit. So changing one's regime occasionally is also something to consider..

Worth a try anyway, but don't be despondent as you have lost 3 stone in a very short time, and perhaps your body is simply adjusting - so enjoy being slimmer and keep going!!

Good luck and best wishes,

Marguerite~
