For me personally, health is not an issue so much as pure vanity. Especially as you get older now at mid forties when overweight I just felt invisible. Now I still look old and wrinkly but I feel better bynot now being bothered about how I look. I like the way my body looks winkles an all. Before I used to catch sight of myself and think is all that really mine stomach used to have a life of its own. So now I would say 10 very.

Hi Mazhar1,

For me, my body is very important, because it is the vehicle through which I function.

Therefore, the more fit for purpose, healthy, functional my body is, the better I function at home, work, socially, etc., etc.

For one simple example, I used to suffer from time to time from plantar faciitis, which left me painfully hobbling about. Since I've lost body mass, the problem has just disappeared because, quite simply, I've not got so much weight bearing down on my feet so the effect of a bit of pronation is now unnoticeable.

But the loss of that problem, means I'm more able to get on with my life, or if you prefer, I'm able to live my life more fully because my mobility is no longer restricted by that problem.

Also, for me, there is the aspect of risk and - to be blunt - my previous body weight was pretty much a heart attack (or other serious medical problem) just waiting to happen.
