Can starting the Metformin (1500mg/day) treatment for PCOS mess up your period?

Hi I have used Metformin as a treatment for PCOS a number of times over the years. Now in my late 50s. My own experience has been that with regards to the symptoms commonly associated with PCOS it has not been a cure all. I have noticed improvement with hair growth but not disappeared completely, and periods were still erratic to some degree. My own research has shown that improvements can take some time as it works on the insulin resistance. If not suffering any issues stick with it for at least six month and have a follow up with GP etc.
