Can I get chlomid and metformin on prescription without seeing a doctor? Or can I get them
Tablets : Can I get chlomid and metformin... - PCOS UK (Verity)
Tablets
You definitely need to see a doctor to get those medications, only a doctor can prescribe it. I’ve been using metformin for the last few months and they are really helpful. My sugar levels have been lowered and I’ve lost a few kilos.
It helps by lowering your sugar levels so that you don’t develop diabetes. I’m using it to help me regulate my period as i hardly get one. I’m not sure about clomid because I’ve never used it. As I’m only 18. I might need it in the future.
No if you go on clomid you need to be monitored as we can overstimulate due to pcos.
Metformin should only be given to you if you are insulin resistant, not all pcos ladies are and there is increasing concerns about it being given to pcos ladies who are not insulin resistant and what it could do when it isnt actually needed.
So it won’t make me ovulate then? Or help with pregnancy? Doctors said it will , ive a appointment later
Clomid does as it produces more follicles (eggs) in the hope that one of them will jump and ovulate but metformin is not a fertility drug it is a diabetes drug. If you are insulin resistant then it can help.
How long would it take to work? And to get me pregnant?
They may try you on different doses initially, the tablet doesn't work for everyone though, it didn't for me. Has your partner been tested as 1/3 of issues are now men.
Okay cheers , on a pregnancy test if there’s a bright line and a white line is that positive? Or If it fades away after 30 seconds is it positive?
