I was wondering if anyone else is using Dr Gregor’s daily dozen as a guide? I’ve been in a massively unhealthy eating slump the past while and think I’m probably not getting all the nutrients I need. I’ve moved away from whole food to processed quite a bit so thought this would be a good idea! Anyone fancy trying it with me?
I think I’ll struggle most with three portions of legumes per day... two is no issue but what about breakfast?! I’d get sick of beans on toast!

I use the Daily Dozen app on my phone. It is easy to use and I find it is very helpful as a reminder to get all the different food groups needed as well as adequate water intake.
Thanks for replying. I will download the app, I had just printed off a list and stuck it to the fridge but I imagine the app is a bit more engaging than a sheet of paper staring me down every time I think about eating easy rubbish!!
Hi, I don’t think I’d stick to it. My way of staying healthy is that I make a rule of eating healthily 80-90% of the time and try to avoid anything processed. The app already mentioned sounds helpful. Good luck! Ali
I'm a big fan of Dr Gregor and like you have been eating too much processed food. I signed up a week a couple of weeks ago for the `Daily Dozen Digest email support group` - it's meant to be 11 weeks of emails with recipes and tips and facts. Last week was beans but I didn't see any breakfast suggestions - but there is more info on social media - but I'm not on any of the main platforms. They did suggest adding beans to soups, salads, burritos and blending to make sandwich spreads or dips and pureeing with vegetables to make thick soups. I guess you could make some white bean dip and spread on toast for breakfast.
Just to say I haven't put it into action yet!!!! I will download the App at some point though, and that might be a further prompt. I'm not evening managing the cruciferous veggies at the moment and I do notice a difference when I don't eat them.
Thanks for taking the time to reply and sorry for my delay in doing the same!
Dip on toast is a really good idea actually, I will try that!
Cruciferous veg is really easy for me - I roast it in salt and pepper. I love kale and Savoy cabbage that way, but have to measure out just half a tablespoon of oil or I would go mad and smother it. Fat tastes so good.
I am doing well at it so far, especially moving back to whole meal for all my carbs, which I wasn’t looking forward to. White pasta and bread tastes very bland now so fingers crossed I keep thinking that way
