My husband and I have pretty much written off any kind of vegan cheese!
I'm funny with texture and don't like really creamy cheese. Can anyone recommend any brand of halloumi, parmesan, mozzarella and cheddar-like cheeses that are similar to the real deal in texture and taste?
I tried grated ”sheese” mozzarella style and violife Parmesan and it’s the only ones I’ve tasted that Ive liked. To be honest I’ve found they all sort of taste the same. I think, like you that there is room for improvement as far as vegan cheese is concerned. I made some cheese yesterday made of cashews and put chilli in it and that was very nice but it was more like a soft spread. If I had added more agar agar it would have been firmer. It’s easy to make so maybe you could have a go at making your own cheese? Ali ps I’ll post my cheese so you can see what I mean.🌱
Thank you! I've always disliked with soft cheeses, but like the sound of adding chilli. I only worry about making a lot of cheese myself and then not liking it. Still, gotta try to know I suppose!
