Hi Marie

I don't know all that much about Churg Strauss Syndrome, but I assume it is like many of the others in that it can and does relapse. With WG some patients can be symptom free for several years and then it comes back. Some of these patients, like I was, are taking maintenance therapy which just stops working, and some are drug free. I think the longer you go without a relapse the less likely you are to relapse. From what I've read CSS can relapse, but the prognosis is good with correct and early diagnosis and treatnment. The overall prognosis depends on the disease severity.

Certainly some people with CSS do go into remission but need to keep taking maintenance drugs to stay that way. Some people also do go into full remission without taking any medication. But it is essential to get the disease well controlled in the first place, otherwise it will keep relapsing.

Thanks for your replies. Steve's churgs has relapsed twice this yr this is his 5th yr. He is still trying to get the level of steroid right without relapse.
