Prescriptions, be careful

I had a, very 'Strange', experience recently regarding my Prescription Drugs.

I recently changed GP Surgeries, the best 'Move' I have ever made, and 'Signed Up' to their On Line Renewal system. However, when I did come to re-new my Prescription there was a Problem. My preferred Pharmacy was shown correctly, each and every time I checked the 'Progress', of my Prescription.

Somehow, and no-one can explain why or how, my Prescription was sent to 'Prescriptions 2 U'-This company is Apparently, in Leeds. At NO stage did I authorise them to 'Action My Prescription', I didn't sign anything, or In ANY way give my consent to them.

The Final 'Upshot' was Good however. I DID get my Prescription, in the Post, my GP will now send my next Prescription to my 'Nominated' Pharmacy. (unless I specifically say otherwise). What isn't clear, to any of us, is how the Pharmacy name was changed, WITHOUT my consent- or even Knowledge!

Although, in my case, there was a Good Ending I am making Everyone aware of this issue.

On a Lighter note, HAPPY EASTER everyone.

I hope they get it right next time. I had to give up on the online system at my GPs dispensary because the list was never updated after my clinic trips. I ring them up most weeks and talk it through with them because there have been so many problems. I've shed more tears in pharmacy queues than anywhere else. My 77 year old mother also uses the same surgery and had a call from the dispensary to tell her that her methadone was ready. She's on quite a few different drugs too, for her heart problems, but didn't think methdone was one of them!

I get my repeat prescriptions from Pharmacy 2U. They are very good, medication arrives promptly by post and reminders are sent to re order.
