I am new here and trying to find out if my Vasculitis is drug induced. I was recently diagnosed with Urticarial Vasculitis. I have been using Citalopram to treat my depression for the past 15 years and wondering if this could be the cause of my Vasculitis?

Can Antidepressants Cause Vasculitis?
Hi,
I have been on fluoxetine then sertraline for the majority of the last 25 years. I had never heard this until a facebook friend who is training to be a doctor mentioned it a few years back. No one else I have spoken to seems to think this is likely.
Fact is, I don't function well without antidepressants, so I am damned if I do and damned if I don't.
Wishing you well
KJW
There are numerous possible causes of vasculitis, try not to worry about what caused it but concentrate on getting your Vasculitis under control.
I was just reading the list of drugs that can induce vasculitis, and as a mental health therapist and marriage and family therapist familiar with depression medications I did not such medications on that list.
Thanks Patty for your reply.
I am in the process of challenging the SSRI that I am taking for my depression. What’s happening this; my sores and lesions are healing as I wean off the SSRI antidepressant (celexa). I am pretty much stunned by this, because I have been itching, coughing and rashing like crazy for about a year now. (Taking Prednisone and other meds to control it) I have challenged all my other medications, including vitamins, but never suspected my antidepressant.
