For the past 2/3 weeks I have been having short sharp stabbing pains across my forehead, from my right to the left temple, they last just seconds and are intermittent ,and although I have them most days I can go 5/6 hours without it happening. It,s not like a headache,or the sort of pain one can get when eating ice cream, but I am very aware of it, Also I have been feeling very light headed and unsteady, I don,t feel dizzy, or muzzy headed,it,s more as if I,m very tired and want to just "drop off " to sleep.and I occasionally have a build up of pressure in the middle of my forehead. I don,t feel generally ill and I haven,t a cold ,As always when these strange things happen,we wonder if it Vasculitis related or just another dam nuisance to be tolerated until it ( hopefully ) goes away..Has anyone had this problem and can offer some advice please.
Why am I having shooting pains in my forehead. - Vasculitis UK
Why am I having shooting pains in my forehead.
I had these pains before and whilst being treated for Cerebral Vasculitis. Also I had the light headiness. Not sure what Vasculitis you have
I have been in remission for some years now and am no longer on treatment, but still occasionally have them and it freaks me out big time
Try this, spread your fingers through you hair and gently tug - do this all over your scalp. Each hair has a little muscle attached to it and sometimes they all cause pain. Relaxing them by this method can and does help.
It is a bit like Shiatsu.
If, I have made an error, in assuming you are not bald, I apologise.
Hi I too have cerebral vasculitis and I get these. My Neurologist said they are icepick headaches, severe sharp pain but it doesn't last long, can bring tears to my eyes and stops me in my tracks. I don't worry about them now but they are uncomfortable. I don't know what the pressure feeling is and I do get a bit worried about this and I shall mention it to my Neurologist when I see him.
