Anyone in drug free remission ?

I am. Took me 22 years with Wegeners but only one significant relapse 12 years ago. Haven't taken and Pred for 4 years and finally stopped Azathioprine last Christmas. Now have blood tests every six months and seeing my consultant just after.

Hope you get there quicker than I did!

My daughter has MPA .She is 12 years old.She has been diagnosed 30months ago.She stoped 4months ago taking Cellcept and now she is on 5 mg pronisone second day.

For now she is in good health.

I cant beliave that You are only member in drug free remission.

we probably know quite a few people who are in drug free remission or who are only on a very low dose of prednisolone... a couple of people we know have been in remission 8 years and 6 years respectively... it is so good to hear your daughter is doing so well at the moment tamidi

my rheumatologist said I had gone into spontaneous remission after 8 years.still taking prednisolone. since a virus at easter my bowels are giving me hell. will I never get away from doctors????

Dear tamidi,

I personally haven't heard of anyone in 'drug free remission'- although this doesn't mean it never happens! I have had a kidney transplant now, last July actually, meaning I can NEVER be without drugs- mind you a small price to pay, for my life, especially one without continuous dialysis!

I am in drug free remission. I have WG and have been free from drugs for 3 months, all good so far.
