I have MPA which is believed to be rumbling along. However in the last few weeks I have had really sore lower back ache, that also appears down the front of my legs... I am a little concerned this is linked to the MPA. Or am I attributing the wrong things to the MPA? Anybody else had something similar?
Thanks

I have back ache in my lower back. when it was particularly bad last year and sending searing pains down the back of my legs, a registrar said it could be due to the weight I had put on due to the steroids. I guess this makes some sense because of the extra weight I carry around my stomach. Not sure it is the reason though.
Hi JaneLE, I have Vasculitis I also have Arthritis, and this year I had a hip replacement , the pain in your lower back which continues down your legs is exactly the symptoms I have been having, I reasoned that this was probably due to walking differently after surgery, this in turn has caused sciatica I know this isn,t Vasculitis related but there is a possibility that your pains aren,t either, However I decided to see a sports physio who is excellent at massage I am now free of the pain ( after 3 visits ). It maybe worth a try for you , you must make sure the physio is reputable and you need to see a sports physio, other wise an ordinary physio will only suggest excersizes and then you will have to do them yourself, a sports physio does massage so you don,t really need to do anything.these people are very knowledgeable on muscular pain. and sciatica is a very common complaint for these proffesionals. If it is sciatica the Dr will just suggest pain killers ------so more tablets.Of course I may be wrong and you must do what feels best for you,but may be worth a try. Good Luck.
