Is there somewhere that abbreviations and terms are listed I keep reading them in various Posts etc but my version of Cerebral Granulomatous Angitiis tends to make me think I am mortally wounded when I do not readily recognise them.

Abbreviations and Terms

Under the Vasculitis umbrella the various illnesses are listed, I keyed vasculitis into Google.
From my own problems PMR is polymyalgia rheumatica & GCA is giant cell arteritis (also temporal arteritis). Hope this helps!
Dear EOS7D,
I don't have a full list, of all the abbreviations used, but I've sort of 'got used' to many of them. I wonder if the 'forum' could produce such a list? Perhaps you could contact John, through the forum, there is a good chance that he will read this anyway, of cause! It is a very good idea mind and I'm surprised that no-one has 'mentioned' it before, to be honest!
Anyway take care of yourself, stay well (some hope, I know!)

Thank you for the reply Andrew, I will give it a bit longer John tends to keep a good watch on items that are posted and hopefully others will see.
Perhaps at the conclusion of every post if the person submitting could give the full term of use, that way during the narrative it is abbreviated and acceptable to read but at the conclusion in say descending order what the abbreviations are.
Again Thanks for the reply nice to know someone is listening.

Hi OS7D
If you look at the Vasculitis UK website you will find the abbreviations for the various diseases under the Individual Disease pages: vasculitis.org.uk/about-vas...
The abbreviations for the blood tests can be found under:
vasculitis.org.uk/about-vas...
Hope those help for starters.

I have looked at the abbreviations but having looked and revert back I lose thread so easily. My short term memory is down purely to the illness, my present consultant "Brain Man" assures me the rest of my brain is OK it is just down to the front left nodes. I do have another Consultant for Vascilitis.
Such is the nature of the illness and abbreviations I confuse myself not sure if Cerebral Granulomatous Angitiis is the same as Vasculitis of the Central Nervous System but I do know I am subject of "Systemic Vascilitiis or Not That is the Question" (Google Search) a very worthy Consultants message to his medical colleagues throughout Europe and I suppose The World. I cannot understand any of the abbreviations, there is much more to the story. The only thing I feel qualified to say is that purperish does not go with green, to those who do the Google will realise what I mean.
I refer to "Brain Man", I had a succession of grand mal seizures back in "98" the first of which whilst a passenger in my car completely burst fracture the spine at L4 this was the start of a relapse. The seizure problem has since been controlled by the medication Gabapentin which also serves to lessen pain.
The Consultant is retired, for me he was brilliant and lifesaving.
I hope any humour does not offend anyone (puperish with green).
