My Mums pred was reduced and her inflammation marker jumped from 72 to 77. This was all in the same week.
Does that sound normal?
I worry all the time about infection, her temperature is ok.

Good Morning Luggsey
How are you this morning?
It will probably be connected. I think it may adjust itself or they may increase the pred again. They will keep monitoring it I am sure.
There is no such thing as normal in vasculitis. What they go by is what is normal for the patient and how much it changes.
Have you checked this link on our web site? You may find it useful.

The FAQ section is also quite handy.
Try not to worry too much, she will be getting monitored all the time now she is diagnosed and anything will be nipped in the bud.
Take care

Hi Lynn, nice to talk to you yesterday, thanks for that.
Because my Mum is no longer on an acute ward the doctor there is unaware of the finer points of her condition I feel. He frightened her (and me) by saying her blood test results were not good and a second opinion was required. I have now found out that urea levels of around 13 are ok in older people and its the creatine level that is a better indicator of Renal function, this was ok I am now told. Her albumin is 28 which is low but I don't know if this is q problem that will right it's self as she gets better?
I didn't worry as much when she was on the acute ward of the large regional hospital.....
