If so have you found ways of keeping the mosquitos at bay or treating the effects of the mosquito bites.

Hi John

Yes I respond really badly to bites. I put anthisan cream on as soon as possible which does help a little in the itching department but not the mega swelling. As for a repellent I have tried all the conventional products over the years with limited effect. About 3 years ago I discovered they don't like SSS moisturising oil body spray by Avon.

All the best

Having worked as a gardener for many years and as such was subject to bites from mosquitoes on occasion I found that Swheppe's Bitter lemon drink was beneficial. It had quinine in it so perhaps that was the ingredient that helped? Other insects did cause somewhat large swellings in the location of the bite but I found that these insects emerged just after a wet period and originated close to hedges or bushes where I was working. A cousre of anti- histamines generally cured the problem. By creaming up before going out into the garden also helped as the cream formed a barrier and disguised the sweat that these insects are attracted to. Incidently the mossies in Scotland are regarded as being particularly voracious especially in September!

Hi John

I have terrible issues with bites and living in the middle of the countryside is a particular issue. The swellings from bites turn hard and then fill with poison within a very short time. Tried all sorts of creams nothing helps I just avoid the bad times when they are particular active.

Kind Regards

Yes, I must always avoid bites because if I get bitten it always results in an infection. I find that Jungle formula is a very good repellant.

Hi John

After living in Africa for many years, I believe citronella oil is the best repelant. Jungle formula and those generally available as repelans never worked for me. If possible, when travelling, enquire about what is sused locally?
