The latest poll on Vasculitis sufferers feet, fascinated me especially where it mentions burning feet.

My feet are never burning but for about twenty years they have always been hot to the point I prefer not to wear shoes or socks (I am frequently seen in sandals even in the snow) and never cover my feet when I sleep. I was diagnosed with WG in December 2010 and had been unwell for about the previous five years, so did the hot feet over the previous thirteen years or so indicate the onset of WG? Perhaps this could be a new way of diagnosing WG :-))

It is strange you should say this but John had hot achy feet before being diagnosed in 2001. But about 6 years ago he started to suffer with hot burning feet as well. He cannot bare me to touch them with my own feet at night in bed and does not like heavy or tight bed clothes on his legs and feet at all. He sleeps with his feet elevated on a pillow at night. He cannot wait to get into sandals in the summer and prefers driving with his sandals on.

Tell John not to wait till the summer, get into sandals now!

I only wear shoes when I am visiting people I do not know very well or going somewhere posh. If the snow is deep and I need more grip than I get from my sandals I then wear my fell boots (oh yes I wear the latter when up mountains or over the moors). Mind you I did get a funny look from a policeman a couple of winters ago. We were both fuelling our cars when he saw my bare toes, he pointed to the petrol stations temperature sign which showed it was -6c, looked down at my feet and shook his head.

Perhaps I could get in the record books by walking to the south pole in sandals ...... then again perhaps not. ;-)

Can't link with this symptom generally, Jim, but I do have hot feet at night and often push back the bedclothes so that just my feet are uncovered. It occurs at the same time as an increase in the pins and needles feeling. I also do not feel comfortable in furry slippers or socks worn with any sort of slippers! Sounds odd, I know, but my feet get overhot in anythng so fluffily enclosed! Maybe I am more like you than I thought!

I have MPA.

Ayla, I can fully understand how your feet do not like being in anything that stops them getting plenty of air. I am very thankful that I do not get any pain such as pins and needles.
