My two year transplant anniversary is coming up. As careful as I was I got COVID-19. I was with family the night before and that night I woke to vomiting. I hate to vomit! Thinking it was something I ate, it’s counterpart diarrhea appeared along with chills and temperature fluctuation. Still thought it was the flu until my nephrologist told me those were Covid-19 symptoms. It is now 10 days later and the symptoms have reduced. Still worried I might wake up struggling to breath. But for now, continued mask wearing!

I’m glad your ok and fingers crossed it’s over and good to hear your experience with it . I have been worrying about catching the virus as the immune suppressant drugs. will be happy when can get the vaccine and try hopfully get back to some sense of normal. Take care Vicky
Hope you're feeling better soon and happy transplant anniversary (mine will be 2 years in March).Although your nephrologist said you had Covid symptoms, have you actually been tested for it?
Good to hear your recovering nicely. Did you get tested to confirm same for your peace of mind. I'm 5 years post op and like everyone else, looking forward to the vaccine. We've been informed via government text oday we're getting the above mid February.🙏 So God willing we'll soon have some form of protection. Even when we've a head cold we worry...The sooner everyone receives the vaccine the better..Take good care of yourself and stay safe.....
I got tested for COVID-19 in November and was negative. I’m having bloodwork done on Monday and meeting with my nephrologist and my transplant team. My symptoms were mild which I think might have been food poisoning or the cytomegalovirus. On day 10 I felt normal. My body temperature only fluctuated at night and Tylenol brought the fever down. I am now on Day 18 and just feeling tired. It’s like my down comforter and have a wonderful relationship! Has anyone taken the vaccine?
I had the exact same symptoms and ended up on the hospital. It wasnt Covid, it was a bad kidney infection. Did you actually get tested?
Got tested today will know the results in2-3 days
Hello Dara3351, I wish you the best of luck with your recovery and please tell me : were you vaccinated against Covid-19?
I have been vaccinated with two Pfizer-"shots" and was advised to continue and be very careful, i.e. continue to wear my face-mask and I always carry some Antimicrobial hand wipes in my handbag etc.
Best of luck and take care, SalSi.
I am happy to say I didn’t have Covid-19 but my nephrologist kept telling I did. It turned out to be a UTI infection. I kept telling him I didn’t have COVID-19! I’m happy I still have the Dr’s at Banner Transplant center keeping an eye on me!
I just had my first shot of Moderna and no side effects. Second shot is slated for May 11. I still wear my mask and follow CDC guidelines.
