Tinnitus ringing and hissing

I developed tinnitus about 3 months ago. ( diagnosed by my gp )

Recently had ear wax removed. ( about 90 percent full in both ears.

1 week on no reduction in volumn or sound ( hissing and ringing in both ears)

Has anyone been through the same issue.

One week is not very long to assess the effect of removal, - your tinnitus may yet diminish in response. Having said that, and purely on the basis of my own case and others of which I have read over the years, wax removal seldom relieves established (3 months in your case) tinnitus. It did not relive mine at onset (more than 20 years ago), nor on subsequent removals.

Like all responses from forum members here (like me), rather than TinnitusUK's expert staff, this is very much my personal opinion and experience. Other contributors may soon come along to tell you of their different outcomes.

I'm afraid earwax removal had absolutely no effect on my tinnitus it's actually a bit louder.I have had a lot of stress in the past year and I think k that is more problematic for T.

Yes Bobby I had a similar issue. My suggestion is meditation and mindfulness. It should help.
