crazy eye noises

does anyone experience crazy eye noises when they move their eyes left to right up or down and a slight feeling of off balance. I’ve read that some people refer to them as brain zaps quite strange and worrying

Yes! I've had this strange zap thing happening when I look to extreme right or left ever since I stopped taking sertraline. It makes 2 or 3 zaps. Then of I look a few seconds later it doesn't do it. I notice it most when I'm reversing my car and looking over my shoulders. It's a known side effect which is supposed to wear off after a while but I've been left with it permanently it seems. None of the health professionals I mentioned it to seem to know anything about it. I mentioned it to the optician, the doctor, the TIA consultant at the hospital and ENT clinicians. They just shrug. I watched a documentary about the long term effects of taking SSRIs and it was mentioned in that programme about 3 years ago. A London neurologist was researching it and he was I terrified in the programme. I should have noted down his name. You are the first person I've ever heard mention it. I have no idea if it is tinnitus related. I was put on the sertraline because I was getting stressed out with the high pitch static tinnitus during lockdown in 2020. The sertralune helped me relax and sleep, but it didn't stop the tinnitus. What on earth is it?

I’ve no idea 🤷 I’m considering trying Sertraline just to help calm me a bit . It’s looking like the tinnitus side of things is a case of just getting on with it and seeing what works. Shocking to think that they can’t find a cure or some medication in this day and age isn’t it

If you try sertraline, I'd be interested to hear if it stops the eye zap noise. Do let me know.

Hello, crazy eye noises; I have this issue sometimes. Moving the eyes leads to instant wooshing and balance issues for a split second; it feels like your whole world moves. I have had this for a few years, off and on. 'Self-diagnosis', my tinnitus is related to my eyes and neck. I have tried certain pills, but I can not stand living like a zombie, so I don't take any medication these days, I get up early and do Tai Chi in the park and go to bed early. I would recommend not to look at your phone, computer, and TV; the flicker, the movement, and the blue light all affect your eyes, your balance, and your brain's natural functions, which for me influences Tinnitus. I have suffered for a long time with terrible frontal lobe migraines, nausea, and now tinnitus, all due to exposure to screens. I now limit myself to less screen time, the less the better.

Hi

I’d you have tinnitus (especially if it is pulsatile) and you can hear your eyes move, Google SSCD and see if any of the other symptoms fit. PT and hearing internal noises such as eyes moving are 2 of the symptoms.

It’s not a very well known condition but it can sometimes be curable.
