Noise in one ear

I've been getting a fairly constant rustling/crackling noise in my right ear.It reacts to certain loud exterior noises.

Could it be anything to do with wax or sinuses ?

I must say that I had it before(same ear) and it went away on its own

Glad of any advice thanks

sometimes tinnitus starts because of a blocked ear. Whilst some doctors don’t offer ear clearance, it’s still a good idea to start off with your gp. Sadly, from my experience here on this site, it does seem that GP’s are dismissive of tinnitus. But you might be lucky.

Hi Taterhead

You are describing Tinnitus but for many this is only temporary and If this is something you have had and has gone before then in all probability it will go again once you calm your nervous system down.

The causes of Tinnitus are largely unknown and large in volume. Sensible to get yourself checked out by a GP but the priority is to try and calm your body/mind remember that it cleared last time and its not likely to be anything sinister.
