I was interested to read all your posts about your experience with the big T! In the beginning I researched it until I was blue in the face! My GP - a newbie - was quite happy to tell me that in some cases catastrophic outcomes 'could' occur as a result of PT....I won't go into it, but I spent weeks and weeks in the beginning thinking that my head was going to explode and I'd be rushed to hospital.
As a result I've got a small case packed with all the necessaries in just to be on the safe side!!! I mean, how ridiculous is that!! Two urgent referral letters have winged their way to ENT (Feb 24) and I still don't have an appointment!!
I could wonder what caused it until I'm blue in the face and I disappear up my own orifice!! The fact of the matter is that IT'S THERE and it ain't going away anytime soon...or ever. Covid, covid shots, E additives, mobile phones, flu, no flu, head trauma....the list is endless! 'They' just don't know and that's the truth! As I type - with no noise interference at all ....I have ringing in my left ear and pulsing in my right. I'm 72 next week and active...I'm learning to live with my unwanted sidekick ...if necessary I take 5mg diazepam to get me off to sleep...I took one over a week ago.
I have a doctor friend who is a keep fit fanatic, 40 something, and he has tinnitus too caused by artillery shells, explosions and gunfire when he was an army doctor...he says that quote"I've just got to get on with it!" So as far as causes are concerned DOES IT REALLY MATTER??!! it's there! Everyone here has made sensible suggestions as to how to deal with it and I take my hat off to them...whatever works for each individual is a triumph in itself. I feel that the noise can be lessened by everyone's chosen way of dealing with it. At first, it nearly drove me mad, and I used to burst into tears and shout why me! ....but now, I can listen to the sounds in each ear and I make songs out of it!!😂😂.... try and have a good day....xxxx
