Clonazepam

As I progress with my Doctors to try and calm my Tinnitus level down, I am currently on 0.5mg a day of Clonazepam. It seems to make me very drowsy when I get near tired and I when I do hit the bed for sleep, I am literally knocked out for 11-13hrs a day, which seems a lot, as often I can get up at 6-8.5hrs without medication. Even thou, Clonazepam will make some people drowsy, I was hoping it would calm the tinnitus! & it isn't at the moment, after taking it for about a week.

I have had blood tests done and my Doctors think I am fit & healthy & I cycle often when I can, if not too tired and I get regular exercise for the age of 50.

Clonazepam, is not for everyone and some people have had success with it, I am hoping that in a few weeks my brain might calm the tinnitus level down a little bit from taking it.

Is anyone else taking Clonazepam & with any Positive Success ?

I’ve seen posts here saying that sleeping tablets have calmed the posters’ minds somewhat, in order that they don’t pay so much attention to Mr T. And the aim is to get habituated to Mr T.

have a look at what the charity Tinnitus UK has to,say about similar therapy.

I agree, I have seen some similar comments & Clonazepam is often rated quite well. I am getting better sleep on it and it is removing some of the light sleep & tinnitus focus I was having, the brain is slightly calmer, but, more drowsy, I am hoping with several weeks in the future, my brain can shift to more Habitation, as the focus is less and less on it. At the moment it is still early days on Clonazepam for me.

I take Diazepam It doesn't take the tinnitus away but reduces anxiety which amplifies it and stops the focusing of it.

Hi Dazza, I've literally just joined....I take low dose diaz. too because of anxiety levels...I have pulsatile tinnitus ...it came from nowhere last Feb and is the culprit of panic attacks and night sweats and elevated heart rate. I do sympathise. At least people here may understand what tinnitus does to poor souls😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏
