Unexpected T distress

Hello everyone 🙂 I haven't posted since the end of January ..

After a mishap at the dentist which left me in a lot of pain I experienced something like T distress .. Only I wasn't upset about my T but about my teeth.

The symptoms were just the same. I couldn't eat, sleep or function. It was so weird having a repeat experience over something else. On the upside I knew what to do.

I'm curious .. Has this happened to anyone else? T like distress over something else.

That’s so interesting and good that you knew how to handle it. I had a similar experience when I started to experience vertigo suddenly - a year after getting T and almost coming to terms with it. I had a completely hellish week of that anxiety - not eating, sleeping and just general panic again. But with loud T in the background too. Eventually diagnosed with vestibular migraine but am sure they are related. Anyhow, if one or other flares up, I now know to stay calm and have luckily been able to eat and sleep well for last couple of years 🙏🏼 Good luck with your teeth!

Hi Doglover

Oh no so sorry to hear this & hope

I hope your picking up OK - I guess any sort of stress can bring the same symptoms like when you first get T & we need to just try & apply that mindset we managed to finally find when we started to habituate . It’s scary to think something can tip us over the edge again but if your strong once you can do it again

You & a few others helped me so much In my early days & I will always be grateful —Get well soon . L

so sorry it’s like this for you.

It goes to show, perhaps, that any kind of “trauma” can set someone off.

Life,,sadly, has a lot to throw at us which we can’t anticipate - and if we did, we’d be in a constant state of anxiety so that’s a good thing!

Hope things get better soon and thank you for posting this.

No argument. I recently posted about how I've just changed jobs. This week has been incredibly stressful with the handover of my old job. I'll spare the details but their expectation during the notice period was ridiculous (especiallythe stress of trying to keep my mouth shut and to leave on good terms).

In my new quiet office job (flexible working from home). This week I've really come to realise how much I endured in a classroom environment.

Good to hear from you too. Look after yourself
