Tinnitus

Hi everyone,I am new in this forum...I have been diagnosed with tinnitus in August 2022 after ear wax extraction,the noise is getting a bit worse now...I didn't have hear lost at moment but my GP advised that this can happen and advised me to join this forum but no sure if any help can be provided or something can be done to avoid developing ear loss? Any advise? Thank you

Hello and welcome....I am sure you will find comfort and support from this wonderful site. My T is stable and is concentrated in my left ear consider myself lucky.

first off, you are lucky to have a doc take notice of you - many are somewhat dismissive (I have found from reading here).

But I know of nothing that can prevent hearing loss as such, other than avoiding (or taking protection from) very loud noises for long intervals. Pop concerts come to mind.

This is a very good site to join . Very supportive for what can be a very upsetting condition , tinnitus does settle after a period of some months but to be helped along by some very nice people on here, well worth joining, I say.
