Earthing and Tinnitus

Has any one tried earthing and had any success,?

it would appear to be a sensible way of improving the situation since all roads appear to point to brain activity as a cause which one presumes is therefor related to electrical activity in the brain/body and that earthing either naturally or induced would have benefits by removing the excess or wrongly charged electrons from the body.

Here’s a great article with much hope from The Earthing Institute

earthinginstitute.net/tinni...

Copy the link into your browser and let me know your thoughts

I’ll be having a go at this as there appears to be many earthing products on the market to make this easier to accommodate on a daily basis.

A great read and full of positive hope!

Thanks for this information. It’s interesting that I’ve been to Tenerife in the Canary Islands twice this year and my T wasn’t as bothersome and I actually posted on this forum. The island is solid Rock with no timber floors as my house has. and I was on the beach all day. Please keep us all posted and I will await dog lovers comments on this one…..and Happy Rosie…2 sensible referees . We all need guidance ….. I sleep with my electric blanked on all night which is grounded though?? I’m very interested. Good luck with your trial

Yep, always thought being stuck in a room for a long period with plenty of electrical stuff affects T. It does mine. So, do i splash out £20/ £30 pounds on a mat. Probably. I,ll try anything as i am sure most of you would within reason, but i will investigate further.

As you’ve stated, I personally am looking into anything that can improve my situation by as there appears to be no one else trying to help us all on here - it’s a DIY approach as many things are, we do our research, try and understand the problem, work out a root cause and look at the symptoms and then take action on a desired direction.

I only see people offering remedies for the symptoms and not the root cause- I get it that no one can see the root cause as there is no evidence of breakage so it becomes very difficult to treat the root cause.

Personally I don’t go with symptoms treatments and will therefor look beyond, such that I tried Taurine and nicotine patches both with some one off relief but not sustainable but having read the earthing paper I too like you have thought for the sake of £30ish I’ll get a mat and give it a try!

Mines due Saturday so will be giving it a prolonged test drive Sunday onwards.

Be good to hear your findings too 😉

Sceptic here. Domestic electricity supplies are earthed using the mains water pipe. Whenever you touch a tap, you are earthing yourself too.

I’m guesting as a sceptic, but do correct me if I’m wrong, in that you didn’t follow the link or read the whole information within the link🤷🏼‍♂️ As you would therefor understand that a momentary touch of a tap a few tunes a day will have zero effect.

Follow the link and read the article and then be sceptic or not!

The link and article isn’t trying to ensnare people for donations or sell any products whatsoever and is basically talking about natures remedies.

I think we both understand the concept of earthing static. Don't need to eagerly read more on the subject.

It's not just taps. Touch most things, even plastic (and nearly all of it around needs a good wipe to clean it and because of that has conductive ability) and you've achieved earthing.

I don't want to rain on your parade, but let's not get carried away lest straw clutching gets the better of us.

Perhaps I'm too sceptic. Bottom line is if it works for you...

I don't blame anyone for searching around, I've done the same. But going in with both eyes open needs scepticism on board. I must therefore thank you for your initial post.

As you say Ray, I'm also somewhat sceptical but if it works for you then go for it.

It seems to me we understand very little about tinnitus and how our brains work and we all try to find ways of coping whether that's earthing, meditation, distraction, CBT etc.

Whatever gets you through the night is worth hanging onto.

Yes. The research just isn't there, but one day it will be. I would like to see T classified. Maybe a tree graph. The trunk would split early on, for physical and non physical cause, or perhaps not. Sufferers could then identify where on the tree they are, and with it, options available as they come along. As it stands its all too vague. We are somewhere 'in the mix' as individuals. What I'm alluding to is some kind of reassurance that whatever any one of us have in total, the scientists have us covered, if you will.

Let's agree that we all have different perspectives on the validity or otherwise of this complementary approach to managing tinnitus and try to move the discussion onwards if possible.

Hello, I am finding this a very interesting study, to be honest there are no experts regarding tinnitus , as if there were there would be cures for some maybe. I would say it is interesting as I seem to constantly have static electric, even shopping trollys some times give me a shock, I have also had the same putting my hand in a bath of water when checking the temperature, all the plumbing is earthed correctly?

Update

My earthing mat arrived yesterday and I set it up in the lounge to use while I was watching tv on an evening.

I sat with my bare feet on the mat and after a few minutes actually fealt things happening within my feet and calves.

I used the mat for a few hours alternating it from floor to foot stool as it becomes uncomfortable in the same place.

Writing this in the Saturday morning and had one of the best sleep nights I’ve had for a long time - is this the earthing - i must presume so as there is nothing else that I have done differently to give me this best sleep condition.

My Tinnitus- I can’t say there has been any affect on its condition after a few hours of earthing in an evening but will carry on with the use on an evening while watching tv and also look for easy ways to expand the use/time of earthing during a normal day (office may be a place to do this).

Update, i felt there were things happening using the mat (actually feel things happening in your feet and calves) but at minimal time i decided i needed more time earthed so i made an earthing mat for the office under my desk where i spend 3-4 hours each day.

I’ve been using it now all week and do note that Mr T is calmer while using it.

The down side is that the pendulum affect kicks in when not using it and it appears to raise Mr T by the amount of decline if you see what I mean so any improvement is lost by a corresponding negative effect ie “sea saw”

I’m going to keep using it for now as the time of low is longer than the high and if I can get more longer time lows and reduce the highs it will be worth it.

Hi, any updates on your use of grounding, I have a mat, tried it for a while, not sure about the results as my T flares up and down.
