I am new to the forum and would like to share and hear from other members on this subject
I am suffering from tinnitus for many year following a me’nie’re’s disease this cause a loss of hearing as well. I have an hearing aid which helps to reduce the tinnitus.
Some weeks ago I had a strange sound like an echo when I listened to t.v and even my own voice
That subside after two days but instead every sound I heard was distorted I went to the audiologist and was told that I have in one ear wax and that is probably the reason but after having an ear irrigation to remove the wax it was the sam. I can’t watch T.V nor can I understand properly when people talk it is very disturbing and I don’t know why it happened
Does anyone have experience that sort of problem?
thanks

Yes, just after I noticed tinnitus , music sounded flat , the TV and radio reverberated and my voice sounded peculiar. The audiologist didn't have an answer and was just mildly interested. After some months of wearing hearing aids and using white noise; playing the radio and music through my aids , the sounds seem to have rebooted. I still get some reverberation from time to time but my interpretation is that my Brain has, for the most part, retrained itself.
thanks for your reply .i do hope that it will sort itself with time. I do wear my hearing aids and at the moment it makes it even worse as the sounds are louder
