many people with T have high pitch sounds - mine is more of a mid tone . It was buzzing last year and now is a more solid tone. It is constant and i hear it all the time
anyone else have a mid tone ( or multi tone ) T sound , as i believe this can possibly indicate a different cause from the high pitch T
thnx for replies

hello Suz26, How are you ? Yes mine is more mid tone ( as you put it). bit like a fan oven, i am adjusting to it very slowly or should I say my brain is. Well we don’t have much choice do we . 😂
I have Tv on low as well with subtitles ( or just the subtitles quite often) - i hv stopped listening to music as well. I have a sound therapy box but use this on a very low volume. Does sound therapy work for you?
I have sub titles , really useful. I have never felt the need for sound therapy , like the radio on if I am in during the day. I take poodles out for walks and the outside sounds are good therapy for me mentally too
do u hear yr T all the time in the daytime or does it fade into background at times? I am hearing my t all the time over the past 4 weeks as it has become more intense
it can vary time wise. Usually the mornings are very good. Sometimes by about 5 pm I might feel the fullness in my head where I am getting tired. The noise is steady and I am coping much better , I don’t like it though when my head feels pressure.. I have a little lie down then.
good morning Suz , thanks for our communication last night, I do hope you feel a bit easier soon, one thing is for sure is that we are not alone with all this, 🥹
hi Penny - yes i am ok - just this past 4 weeks have been very difficult . At the end of last year i was hopeful for improvement this year and then i had a sound incident (just for a few seconds) which made the T more solid, more intense, more bothersome and less sleep than last year ( which was already difficult) I also have another major source of anxiety with a family issue - so not a good start to the year, not what i was expecting.
Oh that is a bit sad for you, let’s hope things settle down for you and that your family issue sorts itself out naturally with time. I myself suffer loneliness at times even though I have two lively boisterous poodles , I am glad I have them because they have helped me stay sane !!!!
Hi Suz26, I have hearing loss in my left ear and have Tinnitus and Hyperacusis. At present I am dealing with a big spike which not only has made the hissing in my left ear extremely loud but I now have a constant humming above my right ear. Like you I no longer listen to music as it aggravates the T and I always watch TV with the volume low and with subtitles. It can be helpful to know that you are not the only one who is dealing with symptoms like your own, I manage my T the best that I can and look forward to habituating to the sounds in the coming months. Hope you do as well.
Hi summer60 I'm the same as you .I have had tinnitus for nearly 5 years but for the last 4 years I have not heared it . But all of a sudden since January its become unbearable my anxiety is through the roof which aint helping the situation. I had my ears checked last week and have mild to moderate ear loss in both ears but when I was having my ears checked all I could hear was my tinnitus. I have been put on antidepressants for my anxiety which I started last week . I'm hoping they help with the anxiety and atleast lower the tone . Antidepressants helped me 5 years ago with the tinnitus so hope they help me again . Sorry for the long post.
Hi Suz_2 I have a high pitch hiss in both ears related to hearing loss but also a mid tone sound in my good ear . It changes from time to time in tone and volume. I don't believe it's related to hearing loss. It's more to do with stress & fatigue.
Hi Penny. All good today thank you. My sister came Monday with the little ones. Lovely but tiring. My T spiked afterwards. How are you? Not so cold for dog walking at the moment.
my family came too, saw the grandchildren it’s their half term week. I certainly notice a difference with my head and ears when they come, but do you know what I am determined to not let it overtake me and I try to put it to the back of my mind and it really does work to a certain extent. . Yes I am still dog walking there was a cold wind today here.
Yes. I try not to let my T spoil things. I accept the spikes now because I know it will settle if I rest for several days. I don't want to miss out on my nieces and nephews childhoods. Hope you had a nice time with the family.
I agree we need to focus on enjoying the young ones . I have more or less accepted the fact that now T is a part of me and my life. Just hoping that it does not get worse, as I believe there are people on this forum with much worse T than me. My biggest issue is the fullness and pressure I get and the way it makes me feel exhausted at times. However I pace myself.
Same here. Slipped and fell down an embankment - next morning woke up with the T and have had it ever since. Life does random things to you. So random and severe you wonder how you managed to be so lucky for so long. Thank goodness I found this forum. Take care everyone.
Yes, I have high and midtone tinnitus. I think it relates to the frequency loss. In my left ear I have very little hearing so have lost all the frequencies and hear two sounds (at least) at once, sometimes three and in my right which is only moderately deaf I hear the higher pitched tinnitus. I also hear a kind of all around general sound.
Hi Suz26. I have a mid ot low tone buzz in my left war. I can stop it by simply going swimming. This is classed as somatic T which is linked to nerves in the neck. If you are Abel to vary the noise by rotating your neck then try swimming (the crawl) and neck exercises.
