I am attending this study in March may get some answers.

Thank you for your interest in our research project on Tinnitus.

My name is Flavia Cardini, and I am the principal investigator of this project.

Thank you for completing the online questionnaires, this was the first part of the research.

I am emailing you to explain how the study will be conducted and then we can arrange a good time to meet for the testing.

Now that you have completed the online questionnaires, we can arrange the face-to-face testing session that will take place in the Science Building at Anglia Ruskin University (East Road, CB1 1PT, Cambridge). If you already know some days and times you will be free, please let us know and we can already book the session. The aim of this second session is to collect three samples of saliva before and after watching a video. Saliva samples will be analysed to measure changes in two important hormones - cortisol and alpha amylase - reliable predictors of a stress reaction.

Additionally, one small sample of your hair will be collected from the back of your head, before the main study takes place. This face-to-face session will last around 45 minutes.

The participation is totally voluntary, and you can share the link with whoever is interested in participating. From the end of the month, we are pausing the testing until beginning of May (with you as an exception) as my research assistants are involved in other projects too, but please feel free to send the link and my contact details to the interested participants and I will get in touch and arrange for a suitable time to complete the study.

Very interesting, I'm actually getting hormones tested tomorrow as well as with the cortisol. I did have a full QEEG done a few weeks back which showed hi beta all over my head which means the fight and flight. Cortisol levels were very low in the morning and early afternoon and then normalizes at bedtime. Having the labs done again to see where they are. Keep us posted on your findings for this.
