Help us spread the word - free poster packs!

Tinnitus is ironically a silent condition, people can't see it and often simply won't know you're suffering with it. Equally, others around you may be suffering without you knowing either.

One of the biggest barriers we face is ensuring people know we are here, as a point of contact to help.

Some of you pointed out in a recent thread that you didn't see much in the way of information in your local communities about tinnitus - we listened, and we've taken action!

To help us raise awareness - and in turn raise the wider public consciousness of tinnitus as a condition - we're asking you to order a FREE poster pack from us and display it somewhere in your local area - your workplace, your corner shop, your library or your school - anywhere!

Email info@tinnitus.org.uk with your postal address and we'll get one out to you.

I hope you can all get behind this push for publicity. With the equivalent of only 17 full time staff, we can't possibly get out and about to every community to go postering, but if you could be our feet on the street it could really make a difference!

Many thanks from us all

This is a great opportunity for forum users to do their bit in raising awareness. Lord knows where I'm going to put half a dozen of these posters, but I'll try!

I put one of these posters up in the kitchen at work and I've just had a chat with a guy I work with who it seems the poster has had the desired effect on.

He's in his early 50's, but is a grizzled rocker who still goes to rock / metal gigs regularly. He regularly gets T for a few days after gigs, but after seeing the poster / flyers I'd left around, he's invested in some earplugs to protect himself in future.

A small win, just one person, but at the same time it's a huge win if it stops him developing permanent T.

That's great ruudboy - one person at a time is all we need, because that one person will tell another, who will tell another ...

If anyone else would like a poster pack, just email info@tinnitus.org.uk with your postal address and we'll get one out to you - or use the chat function here to give me your address privately and I'll sort it out!

Best wishes

Nic

Great idea. If only a few people notice and take time to read it will hopefully make people think and take precautions to protect from getting this thing permanently. My surgery now has posters inviting people for hearing test but there seems to be nothing regarding tinnitus so the more info around will make people more aware.
