hello,Craziness (are you really crazy??)

Generally, wearing hearing aids improves your life and even seems to stave off dementia, they say. It makes the real world more prominent so the phantom world of tinnitus is less pronounced. Of course, that can mean that when you take the aids out, then Mr T thinks his moment has come!

If you read posts here you can see that after a while people do get habituated to T. Sometimes it can take a good while, and if you are stressed at the same time (as I think you are) then it takes longer. Are you familiar with the website of Tinnitus UK? Lots of help from there, but do come back to us here if there is something specific you’d like help with.

Hi there. I'm in same position since COVID. I've had hearing aids for nearly a year. I have found it a slow process, when my hearing aids are in my T moves to the background. When I do thing like exercise yes it moves to be more prominent but only temporary and likely to be so I see from reading around (elevated blood pressure etc). When I take them out the T is more prominent, but if bad I fill noise with music or machine noise. I try hard not to focus on it and I think I'm gradually getting there. I don't know how long you have had them for? If not I'd try perhaps some sound noises when taking out and maybe some CBT? I'll be honest in I've not done CBT much but others say it helps. My stressful job doesn't help me either, so im making better efforts to not let work get to me.
