I think I developed Tinnitus as a result of going on blood pressure tablets years ago.A couple of years ago I complained to my GP that my tinnitus was getting louder so I was sent for CT scan on my left ear which is where I thought it was coming from, but the results showed no abnormalities so I was discharged.
It seemed to settle down a bit on its own, but recently I have been prescribed Amertrypterline for anxiety and I'm sure this has made my tinnitus louder.

I took Amitriptyline to help sleeping during a bad T condition, I could hear an extra sound at first but after a week or two it was definitely helping ease the volume. Are you still taking the blood pressure tablets?
So you have had Tinnitus for years and suspecting the cause but carried on taking the blood pressure tablets, your blood pressure must be dangerous without medication. I was taking Amlodipine and suspected an issue and a gp swapped them for Felodipine which is more or less the same drug working the same way so was pointless and I do without.
Unfortunately I have to take BP medication I am 74 and at risk of a stroke as this condition runs in my family but I am going to see if my GP can do something about it
