Korean Red Ginseng and tinnitus.
Hi there - Thanks for posting this.
I'm really struggling with my tinnitus and have done for some years now as it's gotten much worse, but I'm also into natural remedies where possible.
The NHS prescribed a hearing aid that also has white noise setting to confuse the brain when it gets too much. But not really helping hugely... So I went straight to this link - but I can't really understand what they're saying as it contradicts itself "The tinnitus handicap inventory (THI) scores improved in all groups although only the 3000 mg/day Korean red ginseng group had a significant improvement from baseline. Visual analogue scores improved in all groups, but the change from baseline was not statistically significant. The 3000 mg/day Korean red ginseng group had a significant improvement in the quality-oflife measures and mental health. There was no improvement in hearing."
That's all very confusing for me..! What do you think?
Thanks. D
I think basically it means that those people who took 3000mg had a significant reduction in their tinnitus handicap score but not the ones on gingko or a lesser strength ginseng. It seems as though it may lower tinnitus but it doesn’t improve your hearing if you have hearing loss. I’m trying it at the moment, I have a bottle of 7500mg Red Panax Ginseng. I take one a day. I’m not hopeful but thought it worth a try.
Thanks Philip that makes sense. How long have you been on it?
