Posting this as an example of how with time and the help of this forum my position with Tinnitus has improved. Feel free to delete if not appropiate.
I have playlists on Spotify to occasionaly mask and help me nod off. In the main natural sounds and some white noise.
Jumped in car yesterday and a white noise list started playing, Spotify seems to kick in via the phone intergration to car. I'd normally change to to a radio station or music but i didn't and trundled happily along.
About 3 miles down road i slowly realized I was driving our older car a Subaru with no phone intergration, seems i had the radio turned on to an untuned channel and i was just listening to static 😀
That I saw a funny side to my T is significant for me personally, at under 3 years I'm still new to it but compared to the significant distress it caused me early on to be where I'am now is remakable really. It's not constant, i still have lots of bad days and I'm aware it could change and I'll have to reset but for me there seems to have been a way forward.
Again admins please remove if not appropiate.

Seeing signs of habituation is a huge step and can accelerate progress. Its a great feeling to know where you are now is better than where you were at the beginning.
Just to second what Rosie and Darren are saying, this type of post makes our day when we read them. Tinnitus getting better or something which isn't as problematic is very much our message as a charity. 👍
I have had it for a couple of years and thankfully now just think of it as something to cope with rather than the initial frightening what is happening feeling. I play piano music through an Echo Dot overnight and find it is the right pitch to help mask the tinnitus. Having taken hearing aids out for overnight I hit a quiet world, apart from tinnitus.
Nice to hear about your improvement in what you are dealing with. I try to keep busy so as not to sit back and listening to the ringing as it will not go away. It has been over seven years for me. Some days are just outright overwhelming as it now will go from my right ear to the left. Loud noises are also very bothersome. I have a sound machine by my bed and when I can not sleep I click on rainforest music or sounds of the ocean. I fall asleep within minutes. I am also a pianist so sometimes I just go play the piano for a few hours and this also is a great help. Lets all try to make our lives a little bit easier dealing with T. Mind over body!!!
Hi Rob, anything posted that might help other suffers is ALWAYS welcome on here. Thank you . All of us have tried various methods , some help some don't . We all have to try to find our own coping method. Most, if not all of it comes from here.
