From 1981 to 2021 tinnitus has gradually disapeared but reoccurs randomly. When it does reoccur i take a 5 mg diazepam to help mitigate panic attacks and also to relax head and neck muscles. In addition i use noise masking which significantly helps with tinnitus management.
This is what I use for noise masking:
I use an iphone with earbuds, i use a noise generation app available on the apple ios app store, its called ¨myNoisë what is special about this app is that it is completely configurable across the sound spectrum, so u can tune it to mask out your tinnitus. It is also free.
I have tried many masking apps and this is by a long stretch the best one.
I wish this technology was available in my early tinnitus days, life would have been very different.

great to hear your tinnitus has almost gone and this post will help many that are living in hope of improvement. Mine too has greatly improved , however not as much as yours has done.
Thanks for this advice. You’ve given me inspiration to buy some earbuds and give it a go. I’ve downloaded the my noise app. Any masking of the constant noise will be a blessing. Hope you’re tinnitus continues to be managed.
Hi there, can you give us some tips on how to configure myNoise to work best for our individual needs. Do we customize a tone opposite to what we hear in our heads or do we mimic the high frequency of T? Cheers
I use My Noise. You can try a range of sounds and modulate them in the App until they work with your T in terms of masking. It's very easy, even for a technophobe like me. I'd been listening to 'Japanese garden' at night through my hearing aids. However recently I've switched to another free App (add-ons can be paid for but there's lots of free choice) called Naturespace and I'm listening to 'Photosynthesis' as I type, as my T is a bit noisy at present. I feel very fortunate that I can wear bluetooth hearing aids at night and I sleep very well with this aid. (I had tried pillows speakers but just couldn't hear the sound well enough, and the headband transmitting sound, which I also bought was just too hot and kept slipping round my head.) Anyway, for masking I highly recommend these Apps however you might listen to them. Good luck!
