Tinnitus is getting worse and cant sleep with it
I prefer natural sounds for masking at night. There is one on youtube thats crickets, thunder, rain its perfect for me. Not sure if I can link here but search Best Tinnitus Sound Therapy Ever 10 Hours.
If, like our vision, our hearing switched off when we sleep, the burden of T would be so much more bearable for many of us. The point at which going to bed marks the hardest part of the struggle, and when "rest" is a battle battle between comatose exhaustion and being awakened by the noise, is a very hard one. I can only empathise. I don't know of anything that really helps.
Just on the point of masking sounds. My favourite by miles is this one. You can download 10 hours of it for pennies. It works for me even without earbuds. You will see that the author has variations made in the same way.

Thank you so much.I have just held it up to my right ear which is whistling away and it's so soothing. Using this when I spike or gets loud during the day.
Can't thank you enough for this.
🙂🙏🏽✨️
You are welcome.
In the evenings I tend to watch YouTubes on my laptop while my wife is watching TV. Many times I have this either on its own, or as a background at low level while I am watching something else. It is a Godsend - even at my T's worst I can fall asleep in my armchair listening.
That's good that you are managing it too.I am having an off day today and need to centre again.
Meditate and deep breathing (hold for 20seconds then exhale, 3 normal breaths and then repeat.) Calms my anxiety as well as lots of walks. 😂
I was reminded of my schoolboy physics when T broke through with me. The sound produced by the frequency machinery turns over. If you can find something that has the same pitch as the apparent one your T is operating at you don't get T as such. I found that with local buses, of all things. You don't really notice how noisy they are normally, but when I ride the Stagecoach ones now there is no T. So, the next step I'm engaged in is to find a recording device to capture the sound when aboard for replaying when sleep is needed. I've seen people who have fallen asleep on buses and I want some of that. If you yourself (or anybody else) can recommend a small portable recording device, do say.
