Hello! I’m just wondering what people think about magnesium tablets. I have read they help with T.

Has anyone on here tried them?

my husband (who doesn’t have T) and i both tried magnesium for back pain. He continues to take it as it helps him. I don’t as it did nothing for the pain. Also, I didn’t notice anything to do with the T when I trialled it for two months.

Hi. I have been taking Magnesium for years. I take Magnesium Citrate. It doesn’t do a thing for my tinnitus but so many articles I read tell me that magnesium is good for so many parts of the body so I take one every day! No harm in trying though. I still believe “tinnitus rules”. On Tuesday I had a really quiet day - I have musical ear syndrome. I can’t tell you why I had a quiet day as I am actually quite stressed at the moment but it was heaven. Those are the days I live for! One day there will be a cure I’m sure. Let us know how you get on if you take magnesium. Good luck x

Thanks. I think I will give them a go. They have other benefits so why not! I really hope you get more quiet days and your stress calms down. Living with Tinnitus is hard and we all deserve a break! I wish you well. Take care x

hi Bimmy26 , I have never tried magnesium for my tinnitus but recently I’ve gone back on Amitriptyline to ease my osteoarthritis pain and since taking this my tinnitus has become so much better. I still get it slightly and the ringing is still there but it’s a background hum rather than the pulsating loud ringing/buzzing I usually experience all the time. I think anything is worth trying

Thats good news that the Amitriptyline is helping you. My sister used to take them for another condition and said they really helped her but they did make her sleep a lot! Take care x

I’ve taken magnesium for several years, mainly because I take heartburn pills which deplete your bodies magnesium and they are supposed to be good for ear issues, but they have no effect on my tinnitus, sadly. I’ve tried everything and nothing has helped. But they may work for some people, anything is worth a try.
