Update on T from Spain

Had my follow up yesterday with the ENT specialist. Good news is my MRI showed no abnormalities 🥳

Bad news he's put my T down to stress and uttered those dreadful words 'you'll just have to learn to ignore it!'😡😭

My dizziness is worse, my headaches are worse; I'm also suffering with BPPV on a daily basis so I have to do the Epley Manoeuvre every day.

However my husband has just been diagnosed with Stage 2 throat cancer so of course my stress levels have increased.

I'm meditating daily and have found the Sapien therapy recommended on here, very helpful.

Feel rather deflated after I praised this doc after I saw him in March.

I'll just carry on with what I'm doing and pray for a cure.

hi Its good the MRI is clear but I would like to know if your ENT has ruled out the other causes of tinnitus listed here in the causes section in the link below. Also have you been exposed to any prolonged loud noise, concert or machinery etc? nhs.uk/conditions/tinnitus/

Did the hearing tests the ENT did show any hearing loss?. If it is entirely stress related then they should be at least advising you with stress management. Sometimes medication can help with stress induced tinnitus & sometimes medication can be the cause of it - are you taking meds for stress?

Many people never find the cause of the tinnitus but it’s worth investigation as something like hearing aids can transform tinnitus that’s due to hearing loss.

You may have been through all these questions already but if not it’s worth asking them.

We are all here to support you whatever the long or short term outcome with your tinnitus is.

Thank you.Hearing tests are fine👍

I take Miterzapine for anxiety which helps me sleep.

I take Betahistine for T; this keeps the noise high pitched and in the background.

No recommendations were made re: stress management which I know has been an issue for me since starting the menopause. I cope.

If it gets unbearable, I'll be straight back to my GP.

sounds like you are doing what you can.

If possible I would really recommend getting involved with an online BTA tinnitus group or a face to face group in Spain if they have them.

tinnitus.org.uk/online-supp...

and also Debbie featherstones CBT for tinnitus course. Both available via the BTA website.

Don’t know how long you have been dealing with this but I promise it does get much easier to cope with over time.

Hello! I had very loud T for years, with extremely crazy spikes with suicidal thoughts! I began to search frantically on the web because science does not give me any answer.

If you TRY ALL of this, I'm sure in two or three month you’ll be much better!!

1.- Mother tincture of Passinflower plant at night, but you don,t have to take medicine for sleep!

2.- Magnesium L-Threonate (only this Magnesium works well with T.) in the morning and five hours before sleep.

3.- GABA with Gingko Biloba and L-Theanine before breakfast.

4.- Control your blood pressure and detects if you snore or have cervical problems.

5.- Protect your inner ear all the time you can!

Keep in touch and best wishes!!

Greetings I have Tinnitus through stress/Anxiety == The LIMBIC system.

I’m at the last resort. And yes the Sound fluctuates.

Sound therapy at the end of the month, Which involves earphones with sound to replicate & neutralise the 🐝. In my ear.. Then wear a Small device 6 hours a day…. The Specialist has Tinnitus. He said sometime it goes after time… 18 months he said to me, but Anxiety & emotional trauma.! Bingo, my brother took his life, then my mum got cancer & passed within 12 months, Then my Partner went missing.. , hence him diagnosing LIMBIC tinnitus….. One love from Blightey… hope your husband pulls through….
