Morning - struggling with changes to T

Yesterday my T took on a whole new life - there is not a spot in my head free of some kind of noise - chain reaction going on. Can you ever get to a place where you can just get on with your life. Just needs some words of comfort as feel I can't do this. Hope people are having easier days out there.

You can do this Harrier58 You really can. Just take one day at a time. I used to say to myself .. I only have T today. I only have to cope today . It gets easier over time. Life may not be quite the same but it's OK. You'll get to a place where you make peace with yourself. Recovery from T distress is possible.

Thank you - yes just got to get thru the day - I wonder will I ever feel like me again. Have you reached a place you feel like you now.

You'll get to a better place . I haven't reached the 'broad, sunny uplands' Happyrosie speaks of but I'm so much better . I can eat, sleep, talk, listen & enjoy. All the usual things. I still think about T quite a lot and often wish for peace & quiet. My faith helps me .

Keep strong and hang in there.Better days are certainly out there.

The one thing I keep thinking is,

‘Tomorrow is a new day’ and keep it that simple. Try not to expect too much and be kind to yourself. I know this sound like just words but you need to keep some sort of hope. Definitely focus on self care as much as you can. Use distraction with walks and nature if possible. The more I can distract the easier I feel and that helps bring down stress. Key for myself is recognising when stress creeps in uninvited. That’s difficult to spot as well as the depression that pops in from nowhere. Not sure, which, if any triggers each other.

Take right now Sunday morning and there is no milk for a cup of tea. Before I started writing this as I thought it was more important than getting some milk, I think I was quite down about it.

Even the act of typing this out has forced me to refocus and instead of ‘oh no there is no milk I’m done’ I’m thinking the sun is shining and I’ll walk to the shop. Little fresh air and soon enough I can have that cup of tea and will feel better than the slump I was in before. It’s a tiny thing but these little things help me get through the day.

Do something you enjoy for you.

Take care and reach out.

Best Graham

As doglover so rightly says. Read posts on here to see what sufferers like you have done to get to the broad sunny uplands on the other side

I’m in the kitchen as the mo and my washing machine is on spin cycle. About the same noise as my T though I can hear the T above it if I concentrate. BUT in the normal way I don’t notice my washing machine because it’s part of my life. Same with T

Sending you positive vibes. My T changes all the time - sometimes one ear then both, different noises and volumes. I try to laugh as it is a bizarre phenomenon when you think about it 😊

I’m so sorry Harrier58. I had hole months with terrible suffering!! I broke down many times with desperation!! I can tell you that is possible to improve! While you look for and use a white noise that works for you (can change many times) Try all of these, they were very useful to me: 1. You must keep your blood pressure low as you can and is important to control whether you snore. 2. Take Magnesium L. Threonate (Only this Magnesium!!!) 3 hours before bed. Look for information, this magnesium is really good for brains. 3. Try taking Idebenone 4. Do you know Mimicking fasting diet of Walter Longo? In Argentina there aren't doctors to guide us with this diet, perhaps you can find one. 5. And finally homeopathy might help you too. I’m doing all of these and my T is going down little by little. I wish you much luck!!

I got tinnitus @ the start of the pandemic. I have managed to quieten it quite a lot thru’ taking the advice of a couple of guys on youtube. Check out Julian Cowan Hills channel and Liam Boehms channel. Some of it might seem like quackery, but trust me it works. Dont expect overnight miracles following their advice, because as you probably well know, getting rid of tinnitus is a long hard slog.Your situation will get better, trust me

Dont bother with ENTs as they haven't got a clue when it comes to tinnitus.

Good luck

Hi there, thank you for this - did you buy Julians book - read reviews that the fonts small and hard to read. If so I'll get it electronically. Looks interesting. Which bits did you find most helpful

Yes I bought the book and do reference it from time to time. I find liams advice the most helpful tho’. But I will say julians advice def has a place in curing tinnitus. You just gotta be nicer to yourself at the end of the day. Better diet, more sun, less chems, hands on therapy, better sleep etc The list goes on....
