Buzzing in my ear
Hi Abbas34
It is hard when the professionals say there is nothing they can identify. It was like that with my crows for many years. I have had tinnitus for over 30 years.
Have you thought of keeping a daily diary to look at how you are impacted. A scale of 1-10 could help you as well as note down what you were doing that day- this way you can see how you manage the buzzing as well as when it's worst- spiking- what triggered it and when you've been able to ignore it.
I know that there are leaflets on the BTA website that you might find useful to read- all about tinnitus, taming tinnitus, self-help for tinnitus.
I know you said you went to a hearing specialist, were you referred by your Dr? If not perhaps getting a Dr's appointment may be helpful. Hope this helps.
Hello Abbas. What sparkylady said is just what I would have said - so I reinforce that you will get help and support from the British Tinnitus Association website with lots of information,
Hi Abbas. Tinnitus often makes me sad too but there are ways to alleviate the sadness. Above all try to keep doing the things you enjoy. That's the best way to overcome it. As Sparkylady & Rosie say - the BTA website is a mine of information.
British Tinnitus Association (just google it)
Don’t know if my worsening tinnutis is due to spinal anaesthetic or perhaps medication
One thing that helped me immensely was going to BTA support groups (either face to face or virtually via zoom), I not only learnt about the condition, I also learnt distraction and behavioral techniques which helped with my mood and how I viewed my T.
These groups also helped improve my mood by the shared empathy with the others in the group, they knew what I was going through. You can find more out about groups at tinnitus.org.uk/find-a-supp...
Stay safe
I have a low frequency morse code tinnitus in my left ear, it's exactly 51hz and quite loud, it starts out as morse code then a long continuous humm, it's woken me up several times in the past few weeks with how loud it is and now I'm getting a couple of hours sleep max, like many I have visited all the links, worked through all the advice to little or no effect (I can't think of anything less relaxing at night than the sound of a babbling brook), I'm left with the feeling sadly that it's just something I have to live with.
